Raise Your Game By Setting Your 2019 Goals

It’s no secret that Pilates, Yoga and Barre attracts goal-setters. Now is the perfect time to hit the pause button, reflect on last year’s learnings and set yourself up to achieve your dreams in 2019.

Goals give us clarity on what matters most to us. Setting your intentions for the year or the long term (e.g. 5 year plan) is powerful. It helps you make decisions in line with your intentions so you move in the direction that is right for you. Let’s start this year off right by creating a clear road map for your life.

If you’re sitting down and planning your goals for 2019, we have some great tips to ensure your goals are effective and you stay on track for the year:

  1. Write down your goals. This keeps you accountable and research shows you’re more likely to achieve them if they’re written down. We’ve created a goal setting worksheet to help get you started.
  2. Create a vision board (pictures and phrases) that brings your goals to life and place it somewhere you’ll notice it, so you’re reminded of your direction.
  3. Break down your goals. How can you start to achieve them on a daily basis?
  4. Book yourself in so you are committed. Book your daily goals such as your workouts and those bigger goals, such as the fun run you’d like to do, the dream trip you’d like to take, etc.
  5. Join a group of people who share your aspirations. People who join a Club are 46% more likely to achieve their goals.
  6. Seek professional support to achieve your goals. Invest in coaching or one-on-one guidance to fast-track your progress.
  7. Track your achievements and celebrate your progress.
  8. Give yourself the flexibility to change your goals during the year, so they stay relevant and meaningful.
  9. Stay positive and never give up.
